Responsibilities
As a robotics engineer, you will be challenged to help us solve insanely difficult problems in mobile robotics, pushing the boundaries of what robots can do to produce enormous value for our target customer segments. Responsibilities will vary in the context of a small team rapidly developing and maturing a robotics technology stack spanning novel platforms, electronics and software. Typical duties can include algorithm and software development, robot simulation, mechanical design and build, electronic design and supporting trials and demonstrations with customers. At this stage we are interested in a background or skill set applicable to any of the following (but the underlying characteristic we always look for is creative problem solving and a growth mindset!):
- the development of air, ground or maritime vehicles (especially robotic vehicles)
mechanical design and prototyping - applying systems thinking to challenging multi-disciplinary engineering problems
- a practical understanding of electronics
- use of ROS or another middleware framework
- familiarity with data links, sensors and computing hardware for robotics
- software development in languages such as C/C++ and Python
Requirements
We are open to applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline, and a background spanning multiple specialisms can be an advantage.
